Amazing performance, TERRIBLE SOUND!
Rick Glassman is a talented comedian! Like George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, he is a true modern day great, no doubt! I attended his show on 1/11/2026 and then again on 1/9/2026 at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre in New Orleans. The venue was great, with friendly staff and easy parking, typical of New Orleans!
He had two comics open his show who were very funny and entertaining. I wouldn't have minded if they had more time on stage because they were that good.
However, the sound quality was terrible! Even with some hearing loss, I could hear others around me complaining and asking each other, "what did he say??" There's no excuse for a venue with existing PA systems and designed for good acoustics to have such poor sound. I hope Rick's team addresses this issue and ensures proper sound checks for future performances!
The first night, I missed about half of the jokes and stories, and the second night only caught about 75%. I know I'm not alone in this complaint. I saw Lewis CK there two years ago, and while it wasn't as bad as Rick's show, it was still difficult to hear him at times. The PA system lacks clear high end and mid range. Enough said.
See Rick Glassman whenever you can and support this legendary comedian. His performance was amazing and hilariously indescribable. Kudos to Rick for mixing up his show over the three nights and incorporating New Orleans and Louisiana into his routine, making it even more special for the fans.
